Bruno Fernandes posted ‘welcome’ on his Instagram story after Sergio Reguilon secured a season-long loan move from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester United.

The Manchester United captain is set to play alongside the 26-year-old at Old Trafford, after he wasn’t part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans at Tottenham.

But whilst one door closes for one play, in regards to Luke Shaw’s injury at Old Trafford, it opens up another one and Sergio Reguilon is the man to take that spot.

After speculation on transfer deadline day, Manchester United announced on Twitter on Friday afternoon that Reguilon has ‘signed up for the 2023/24 season’.

You would imagine that this is a bigger move for the left-back than Man United themselves, who weren’t expected to dip into the market for a left-sided player, but were forced to because of injures.

And as for Tottenham, they have got a player off their wage bill who was behind the likes of Destiny Udogie, Ivan Perisic, Ben Davies and the injured Ryan Sessegnon for those left-back spots – You can see Bruno Fernandes‘ message to Reguilon below, which was posted via his Instagram story.

Chance for Reguilon to shine

Ever since the Spain international moved to the Premier League from Real Madrid, he has struggled to find hit feet and really cement his place in the XI.

He has had some good moments, but that consistency hasn’t been there, hence why he has been loaned out twice, albeit, under the same manager in Antonio Conte.

But now Reguilon has the chance to really shine and showcase his worth because this is one of the biggest stages he can play on in the Premier League.
