Did Carlos Marin have a wife as Il Divo singer passes aged 53?


Il Divo’s Carlos Marin has sadly passed away aged 53, a statement on social media confirms.

Marin had been taken to hospital earlier in the month and, as such, had to postpone the Il Divo UK Christmas tour.

Amid sad news of his passing, fans are keen to know more about Carlos Marin’s personal life, including if he had a wife. Here’s what we know…

Il Divo singer passes away at 53

The official Twitter account for male quartet Il Divo announced the passing of member Carlos Marin via a statement December 19th.

The statement read: “It is with heavy hearts that we are letting you know that our friend and partner, Carlos Marin, has passed away.

“He will be missed by his friends, family and fans. There wiIl never be another voice or spirit like Carlos.”

The Independent reports that Marin had contracted Covid-19 earlier in the month and was reportedly hospitalised and placed in an induced coma.

Did Carlos Marin have a wife?

Carlos Marin was not married at the time of his death, but he had previously been wed to Geraldine Larrosa, better known as Innocence.

Geraldine Larrosa is a 44-year-old Franco-Spanish pop singer, known for hits such as ‘The Show Must Go On’ and ‘Upendi’.

The two wed in 2006 in Disneyland, California after 13 years of dating but ultimately called it quits in 2009 after just three years of marriage.

It’s unclear why the pair went their separate ways, though Larrosa later went on to have a relationship with Sergio Arce Tula between 2011 and 2014, welcoming her only child in 2012.

Carlos Marin did not have any children.

Innocence and Carlos Marin remained friends

Despite calling it quits more than a decade ago, the two have remained as close friends.

As per The Sun, when Carlo Marin was hospitalised, his agent explained: “His ex-wife Geraldine Larrosa is with him in hospital because although they separated 12 years ago they remain great friends.”

It’s also understood that Marin continued to produce Innocence’s music and the two were even set to perform together on TVE1 on New Year’s Eve.
