England vs Italy 2021 Live Stream Euro final cup 2020

The final of Euro 2020 is being held on Sunday 11 July at Wembley Stadium, with kick-off at 8.00pm.

All fixtures in the tournament have been broadcast live and free on the BBC and ITV.

As a special treat, the final will be aired on both, with build-up starting at 7.00pm on both BBC One and ITV.

You’ll be able to tune in live online through BBC iPlayer and the ITV Hub, and BBC One is airing a full match re-run at 1.00am on Monday morning.

How many people watched England’s semi-final?

England’s historic Euro 2020 semi-final victory was watched by a peak of 25.8 million viewers on ITV, the biggest audience of the tournament so far.

Although one of the most-watched programmes of the past decade, the figure was just below the 26.5 million peak for England’s 2018 World Cup semi-final against Croatia.

Wednesday’s figure didn’t include those who streamed the clash on ITV Hub, while a large number of people also watched the game in pubs and on outdoor screens.

Hopes are high that the final will beat the 32.3 million estimated to have watched the 1966 World Cup Final between England and West Germany.

Commentator Sam Matterface begged viewers to stick with ITV for the final after the broadcaster banished its so-called “curse” – historically, England had won just five tournament matches broadcast on the channel.

However viewers criticised Matterface’s excitable performance during the final period of extra time, when he told fans they could “do what you want tonight” and not go to work the next day – some said they would be certain to switch to the BBC for its final coverage, fronted by Gary Lineker.

    What can England expect from Italy?

    The Italy side awaiting England in the final have widely been recognised as the team to beat since opening the tournament with a comfortable victory over Turkey.

    Resurgent since the arrival of Roberto Mancini, Gli Azzurri are not a team of footballing celebrities, but one constructed from the riches of Serie A who have conceded just three times in their six games so far. Even amidst the stars, the nebula like Emerson – who has not started a league game for Chelsea in over a year – toyed with Cesar Azpilicueta down the left and exposed a rattling Spanish defence.

    Federico Chiesa curled in a finish of which the BBC’s guest of the hour Alessandro del Piero would have been proud. Meanwhile Jorginho, the coolest man in outer London when the time came to take his penalty, has continually set the pace in midfield, though Marco Verratti has also excelled in that department when he’s played.

In attack, the clinical Ciro Immobile, Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Chiesa have been outperforming Italy’s xG and their opponents in the later stages of the tournament cannot afford to present them with even the lowest quality of chances.

That said, much of their strength has been in their wing-backs and their system has suffered a huge blow after it was confirmed Leonardo Spinazzola has ruptured his Achilles tendon, ruling him out of the rest of the tournament.
