Hogwarts Legacy’s voice talent has been revealed, including Simon Pegg | VGC

Warner Bros. Games has revealed the voice actors for Hogwarts Legacy, including Simon Pegg as headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black.

Pegg’s bad-tempered and lazy character, who the actor introduces in the video published below, comes from a long lineage of Slytherins and is hated by the students.

Sebastian Croft (Love, Death & Robots, Heartstopper) and Amelia Gething (The Amelia Gething Complex, Emily) play the two voice options for the game’s playable avatar, which can be customised to create a wizard or witch.

Lesley Nicol (Downton Abbey) voices deputy headmistress professor Matilda Weasley, a major character and a Gryffindor.

Kandace Caine (The Human Centipede 2) plays Divination teacher and gifted Seer professor Onai, while professor of astronomy Satyavati Shah is voiced by Sohm Kapila (The Mummy).

Other stars include Luke Youngblood (Lee Jordan in the Harry Potter series) and Asif Ali (Rify) as Ravenclaw students, and Jason Anthony (Ms. Marvel) as both Gryffindor house ghost Nearly Headless Nick and the Sorting Hat, a sentient, magical hat.

Developed by Avalanche Software (Disney Infinity), Hogwarts Legacy is described as an open-world RPG that takes players beyond Hogwarts to new and familiar locations, “as they live the unwritten and embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world”.

Published under Warner’s Portkey Games label, the game was originally scheduled to be released in 2021, before being delayed to 2022 and more recently to early 2023.

The PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC versions of Hogwarts Legacy will be released on February 10, 2023. The game will then hit PS4 and Xbox One on April 4, and Nintendo Switch on July 25.

A month ahead of release, Hogwarts Legacy is already one of the biggest money makers on Steam based on pre-orders.
