Wondering how to get around the world of The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom easier? Here’s how to fast travel.
The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom‘s location – the apocalyptic town of Wakefield (no, not that Wakefield) – is rather big. It’s separated into zones, and although you can hop through them on foot or in your vehicle, it can take quite some time to get from one side to the other. Especially when you’re constantly besieged by zombies. So, can you fast travel? The answer is yes, and here’s how.
You can’t fast travel in The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom instantly; you’ll need to play through the opening section of the game first. You’ll be introduced to a giant worm, and from that point onwards, fast travel will be available to you.
However, you can’t fast travel anywhere at any time. Look out for pink/blue-coloured warp symbols on your map – visiting one of those will bring you face to face with the giant worm. Interacting with it will open up the map, and allow you to travel anywhere you’ve already been. You can’t fast travel to areas you haven’t already visited.
However, you can fast travel back to your base – the treehouse in the centre of town – at any time. Press ‘down’ on your d-pad, and you’ll summon the worm, who’ll instantly take you back to the treehouse. From there, you’ll also have access to a warp point to fast travel to other locations.
