Is Elena leaving The Young and the Restless? Brytni Sarpy’s character hints at Y&R departure

Brytni Sarpy’s fate in The Young and the Restless has been left up in the air in the show’s most recent episode, leaving fans wondering if Elena could be leaving the show anytime soon.

Since it first arrived on our screens in 1973, The Young and the Restless has seen countless characters come and go.

It’s always a huge talking point among fans, especially when a character’s exit is touted on the show.

That was the case in June 8th’s episode when Elena revealed that she had been offered a job in Baltimore which has left fans asking “is Elena leaving The Young and the Restless?”

Elena on The Young and the Restless

Played by Brytni Sarpy, Elena Dawson was only introduced to The Young and the Restless fans in 2019 and she’s certainly been involved in some eye-widening storylines.

Ever since she cheated on Devon (Bryton James) with Nate (Bryant Jones), Elena’s life has been in turmoil.

Then she turned around and cheated on Nate with Devon, adding chaos to her personal life – and when she wanted another chance with the former, he was quick to turn her down, leaving Elena all alone.

These days, Devon is in a relationship with Amanda (Mishael Morgan) and Imani (Leigh-Ann Rose) has caught Nate’s eye, potentially leaving Elena out in the dust.

Is Brytni Sarpy leaving Y&R?

  • Elena and Brytni Sarpy’s fate on The Young and the Restless has yet to be revealed.

In June 8th’s episode, Elena divulged to Nate that she’d applied for a job in Baltimore and that the hospital had made her an offer, but she had yet to make a decision.

Elena sounds very keen on the idea of moving away and starting a new chapter which has given fans a good reason to worry about her future on the show.

One positive that fans can take is that Brytni Sarpy has not posted any ‘goodbye’ messages on her social media channels at the time of writing, but that may be in an effort to avoid spoiling her fate.

According to Monsters & Critics, Brytni has not publically signed up to appear in any other projects, hopefully suggesting that her time on Y&R isn’t over just yet.

However, the decision may not be up to Brytni as Donny Boaz’s departure as Chance was reportedly a choice made by the writers and not him, so her leaving the show is a possibility.

The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
