Newsmax has named Sharla McBride as the new co-host of its Wake Up America show. However, this major shakeup has left fans wondering about the former host Alison Maloni.
Who is Sharla McBride?
Sharla McBride is a well-known news and sports anchor who previously worked for CBS affiliate WUSA-TV. Her other journalism jobs included being an Evening News Anchor for WNEP-TV 16 where she also served as the Sports Anchor/Reporter.
She also worked with NBC Sports Philadelphia as their sports anchor for a year between 2012 and 2013. Sharla was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and began her media career with KTXS-TV. The journalist has 17 years of experience in broadcast media. Newsmax reports she studied international affairs and foreign policy, alongside broadcast journalism, at the University of Georgia.
Furthermore, Sharla is married to photographer Todd Hiller. Her Instagram post on their anniversary reveals they’ve been married for ten years. Todd owns his own photography firm that specializes in wedding photography.
Newsmax announces Sharla as new co-host for Wake Up America
Sharla is the new co-host of Newsmax’s Wake Up America. The show airs on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., ET. She joins Rob Finnerty as the co-host.
Before her, it was television anchor Alison Maloni who hosted the show alongside Rob. Both Alison and Sharla are Emmy award-winning journalists. Moreover, Alison also run her own PR firm called Alison May Public Relations for the last 10 years.
