Actor Ned Beatty passed away aged 83 on Sunday June 13 due to natural causes. While tributes have poured in, the internet have realised that Ned Beatty was not Warren Beatty!
Iconic actor Ned Beatty passed away in Los Angeles, California due to natural causes, surrounded by his friends and family.
Appearing in more than 160 films, most people would’ve watched at least one of his works, whether you’re a parent or child. Lending his voice to Disney, he embodies the role of strawberry-scented villain Lots-O’-Huggin’ Bear from Toy Story.

Tributes pour in for Ned Beatty
The internet is mourning the death of such a talented actor, whose films had earned him several prestigious awards such as the Oscars and Emmys.
His most notable role remains to be in 1972 critically-acclaimed film, Deliverance, playing Atlanta businessman Bobby Trippe – his character became known for the graphic “squeal like a pig” scene.
The movie was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
Ned leaves behind his fourth wife Sandra Johnson and his eight children from previous marriages: four children with Walta Chandler, two children with actress Belina Rowley and two children with Dorothy ‘Tinker’ Lindsay.
Ned Beatty and Warren Beatty are not the same person
Since Ned’s death has hit headlines, it is only now that people have realised that firstly, Ned Beatty and Warren Beatty are not related, and secondly, they are not the same person!
Actor and producer Warren known for Bonnie and Clyde, as well as his extensive list of romantic relationships, was also born in 1937. Though it seems they share the same birth year and surname, they are not related.
Warren was born Beaty and changed it in 1957.
When asked whether he and his famous namesake are linked, Ned said “I tell them he’s my illegitimate uncle and they actually try to figure it out.”
