Speaking on the BBC Match of the Day Top 10 Podcast, Micah Richards has been speaking about Harry Kane and his future at Tottenham.

It’s been widely reported in recent weeks that Kane is keen to leave Tottenham, but despite the fact Kane is one of the most talented players in the country, Richards believes that it may be hard to convince a club to cough up the cash for him.

What’s been said?

Alan Shearer and Richards were discussing Kane’s future, and Richards says that Man City will not spend the money to bring him in and many clubs won’t.

“Harry is the finished article, you know what you’re going to get with him,” Alan Shearer said.

“How much is he going to cost though? How much is he going to cost realistically? He’s got three years left on his current deal, they’ll want £150 million plus realistically. I’m not spending that on Harry Kane, not a chance.”

“The problem with Kane now is that he might go somewhere he doesn’t really want to go. He might go to PSG because of Poch and the money they’ve got. Ideally he wants to go to Man City or Man United, but Man City aren’t going to pay the money for him, I’m going to put my neck on the line.”

Levy won’t like it

If Kane is to leave Spurs it’s going to be for an extraordinary fee, and to be honest, most clubs can’t afford that in the current climate.

Kane reportedly wants a move to Manchester, so this verdict isn’t going to put a smile on the England captain’s face, but it also won’t act as music to Daniel Levy’s ears.

Levy will be hoping to earn as much money as possible from the sale of Kane, but if teams can’t cough up the dough, then he may have to look at a cheaper move or even a swap deal.

The Kane situation will certainly cause Levy a few headaches this summer, and if he isn’t going to fetch the fee Levy is looking for this will be a very complicated situation.
