According to Sassuolo News, Sassuolo will not force midfielder Manuel Locatelli to join Arsenal if Juventus don’t increase their bid.

It’s stated that Juventus have offered a two-year loan with a permanent obligation worth just over €30million (£26million).

That is considered ‘derisory’ by Sassuolo given that they have a €40million (£34million) bid on the table from Arsenal, so they won’t give Juve any discounts.

Arsenal may hope that Juve’s dithering helps them, but the report notes that Sassuolo don’t need the money and won’t accept a deal against Locatelli’s wishes.

Locatelli is currently saying ‘no’ to joining Arsenal, and Sassuolo are prepared to give up a potential windfall from the Gunners by rejecting their offers and getting him to Juve instead.

Another meeting is coming between Juve and Sassuolo as they attempt to thrash out a deal, none of which will give Arsenal hope of a deal.

The Gunners are seeking a new central midfielder with Granit Xhaka potentially on his way out, and Locatelli is an exciting option having shown quality for Italy at Euro 2020.

Locatelli can dictate play from deep whilst also being able to get into the box and score, so it’s easy to see why Arsenal want him alongside Thomas Partey.

As things stand though, that £34million bid won’t get them very far, with Sassuolo ready to reject their offers and keep Locatelli into next season if Juve don’t come up with a good enough bid.
