Stan Collymore tells Arsenal to sign 19-year-old English star

Stan Collymore has suggested that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal should try to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.

The former Liverpool striker has written in CaughtOffSide that Arsenal need to sign a new midfielder for next season and beyond.

The pundit believes that 19-year-old England international midfielder Bellingham would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal.

Collymore has added that if the Gunners are unable to bring the former Birmingham City youngster to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window, then the North London club should move for Declan Rice.

The Telegraph have reported that Arsenal are keen on securing the services of England international midfielder Rice from West Ham United.

Stan Collymore suggests Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham for Arsenal

Collymore wrote: “I think a striker to rival Gabriel Jesus and a new midfielder would be smart moves, purely because of how many games they’re going to be playing and it will be unrealistic to expect Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard to play every game.

“Obviously, Jude Bellingham would be every club’s pick when it comes to a central midfielder, but if Arsenal can’t compete for him, they should definitely look to sign Declan Rice.”

HITC Verdict: Summer transfer unlikely

In our view, Arsenal are unlikely to be able to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.

While there is speculation that the Gunners admire the England international midfielder, the North London club are unlikely to be able to cough up the amount of money it would take to sign the teenager.

Moreover, with clubs such as Real Madrid and Manchester City keen on Bellingham, Arsenal do not stand much chance of convincing the 19-year-old to move to the Emirates Stadium.
