ANXIOUS / KOYO / ONE STEP CLOSER
Three bands who come from the Northeast hardcore scene but make melodic, emo-leaning music, Anxious, Koyo, and One Step Closer, have announced a co-headlining tour for 2024. Support on the first leg comes from their friends in Life’s Question, and support on the second leg comes from a newer West Coast band that also has a knack for hardcore-informed emo, Stateside.
STEPHEN WILSON JR
Country artist Stephen Wilson Jr will continue to support this year’s søn of dad on tour in 2024, including dates with Brothers Osborne and The Cadillac Three. Stops include Nashville, Omaha, Fort Lauderdale, Columbus, Newark (NJPAC on 6/28 opening for Brothers Osborne) and more.
Nineties comedy troupe The State have been on their very sporadic “Breakin’ Hearts & Dippin’ Balls” 30th anniversary tour since August, which hasn’t been so much a tour as occasional dates in cities around the country, like NYC in October, which featured classic sketches, favorite characters in new situations, and all-new sketches too. They’ve announced 2024 dates.
Having recently teased new music, SUMAC (members of Isis, Russian Circles, etc) have now announced three Northeast shows for February to celebrate the band’s 10th anniversary: one in Boston, two in Brooklyn.
KAONASHI / MUGSHOT
Philly post-hardcore band Kaonashi returned this year with two new singles, “Humiliation Ritual” and “Blood Red Camry Dance Party,” and now they’ve got a co-headlining tour with Mugshot lined up for 2024, with support from Mouth For War, CELL, and PAINS, varying by date.
OUTBREAK FEST 2024
UK festival Outbreak Fest has announced its initial 2024 lineup, and the festival continues to expand its purview. The hardcore-oriented festival brought in more hip hop than ever on its 2023 lineup, and some of that returns next year. It also looks like it’s gotten way more emo, including some full-album sets from in and around that world. Check out the lineup.
