“Fast and Furious 9” is the latest addition to the “Fast and Furious” franchise, one of the world’s highest-grossing film series.
The Fast and Furious 9 franchise continues to race its way into the hearts of fans. The latest installment in the high-octane franchise F9 is one many subscribers are looking forward to seeing, leading them to wonder as to whether or not it is one of the many excellent action movies available on Netflix.
|Movie Name||Fast and Furious 9 F9|
|Date Time||June 25|
Love them or hate them, the Fast movies continue to blaze into theaters full of incredible action and next-level car chase sequences. But, after eight films and a spinoff, the series is making its way towards its final lap, and F9 is essentially the beginning of the end for the core story of the franchise.
WHERE TO WATCH FAST AND FURIOUS 9?
Fast and Furious 9 will open in movie theaters in the U.S. on June 25, aka tomorrow. You can buy tickets for a showing near you here. For now, a movie theater is the only place to watch Fast and Furious 9.
CAN I WATCH FAST AND FURIOUS 9 ON STREAMING?
Not right now. You will not be able to watch F9 on streaming when F9 opens in theaters on June 25. However, you may not have to wait very long before F9 becomes available to rent on digital. Read on to learn more.
WHEN WILL FAST AND FURIOUS 9 BE ON STREAMING?
It depends on how well F9 does in theaters. Universal has a deal that allows the studio to release its films on premium video-on-demand—meaning you would be able to rent the movie for $20—after 17 days in theaters. If the movie hits the $50 million mark, it will be released on PVOD after 31 days.
Therefore, if F9 makes less than $50 million on its opening weekend, then you may be able to rent Fast and Furious 9 on digital platforms as soon as mid-July, around July 12. If the movie hits the $50 million mark this weekend, you will be able to rent it at the end of July.
Either way, the longest you will have to wait to rent F9 for $19.99 is a month. In the meantime, you can always buy or rent The Fate of The Furious while you wait.
WILL FAST AND FURIOUS 9 BE ON HBO MAX?
No. F9 is a Universal film, not a Warner Bros. film. While HBO Max is the streaming home for Warner Bros. blockbusters like Godzilla Vs. Kong and In the Heights, it will not be the streaming home for Fast and Furious 9—and at least, not for a while.
It is possible that F9 will be on HBO Max someday—after F9 releases on DVD— if the deal to send Universal movies to HBO Max gets renewed. After that, F9 should be available on Peacock, the NBC Universal streaming service. But we’ll just have to wait and see.
When will Fast and Furious 9 be on streaming? When will F9 be on-demand?
We don’t know yet. Fast & Furious 9 is a Universal movie, and Universal Studios has a deal with AMC that allows the studio to release its movies-on-demand—usually on premium-on-demand, meaning you’ll be able to rent the film for $19.99—after just a 17-day run in theaters.
However, it’s unlikely that Fast & Furious 9 will move to PVOD after just 17 days, given that it’s such a huge film. Sources close to the situation have told Decider that because the 17-day window is flexible, Universal plans to let F9 run in theaters exclusively for longer than just 17 days. However, an official digital release date for F9 has not yet been announced. The studio will likely make that decision based on how well the movie is doing at the box office. With vaccines rolling out, but also with variants of the COVID-19 virus on the rise, it’s still too early to say how comfortable moviegoers will feel heading to the theaters in June.
Fast and Furious 9 cast: Who’s coming back for Fast and Furious 9?
Most of the main cast is back for the ninth outing, so that’s Vin Diesel as Dom, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges as Tej, and Tyrese Gibson as Roman, among others.
After missing out on the last movie, Jordana Brewster is also back as Dom’s sister Mia, who is married to the late Paul Walker’s Brian. Excitingly, Brewster and Rodriguez will actually share a speaking scene in the ninth movie for the first time in the series.
“I’m really grateful that we got a chance to do that. Hopefully, we’ll continue to explore it because there’s so much to unearth there,” Brewster said.
Walker’s brother Cody has been speaking about a potential return for Brian, saying that “anything is possible” after Cody and his brother Caleb stepped in to finish his filming for Fast & Furious 9.
Fast and Furious 9 plot: What’s Fast and Furious 9 about?
With the first trailer came the official synopsis for the ninth movie, which is as follows: “Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon.
“This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob.”
Diesel expanded, telling Total Film: “The theme that we’ve been playing with up until this point has been the family that you create with people from all walks of life, the family that is not blood
“What makes the story of Fast 9 so fascinating is how that altruistic concept could neglect the family defined by blood. That’s where this story goes.”
There’s not much else we can tell from the trailer about why or how Han is back, but we have been promised that it makes sense. In addition to Han’s return, the new movie will make you “understand” the first movie more, apparently.
Since the end of Fast & Furious 8, Cipher appears to have been caught and is giving a classic villainous speech in her glass(?) cell, only she’s giving it to Jakob: “Could you kill him? Because I’m ready if you are.”
Final Word Fast & Furious 9
